dr. huajian yao received his b.s. degree in 2001 and m.s. degree in 2004 in geophysics at the university of science and technology of china (ustc). in 2009 he received his phd in geophysics at mit. then he worked in the scripps institution of oceanography, ucsd as a postdoctoral green scholar in 2010-2012. in 2012 he joined the school of earth and space sciences, ustc as a professor of geophysics. he has published ～150 research papers in the area of seismology and geophysics with 5000+ citations from web of science
